The international Conference on Signal, Image, Vision and their Applications (SIVA'11) aims at gathering international researchers, educators, and practitioners in signal and image processing in order to exchange experiences and discuss future orientations. The conference will offer an opportunity to fill the gap between signal and image processing researchers and engineers working in application fields such as medicine and industry.
The city of Guelma is well known for its hammams (thermal baths), among which the most known is Hammam Meskhoutin. Besides this, the Roman relics of Calama constitute a very important archeological legacy.
Guelma has numerous archeological sites which show the wealth of the historical and tourist heritage of the city such as the Roman Theatre (4500 seats), the Roman swimming pool, the ancient relics of Thibilis, the underground lake in Bir Osmane, the caves of Djebel Taya in Bouhamdane, the climatic stations of Mount Maouna and the recreation forest of Beni Salah.
Submissions are invited in, but not limited to, the following areas:
• Biomedical Signal and Image Processing
• Image and Video Processing
• Biometrics
• Texture Analysis
• Image Segmentation and Characterization
• Pattern recognition
• Signal Processing for Communications Systems
• Design and Implementation of Signal Processing Systems
• Inverse Problem
• System Identification
• Modeling and Simulation
• Control and Systems

- Main activities of the laboratory (250 words)
The Scientific objectives of the laboratory (PI:MIS) are Inverse Problems Modeling, Information and Systems, fall under the field of Sciences and Technologies of Information and Communication. The production and scientific animation, are fulfilled mainly by its four research teams. The sets of themes of research that will be developed by the teams are multiple:
• Image and vision
• Stereoscopic vision
• Medical imagery
• Nonstationary signals
• Analysis of biomedical signals
• biometrics
• Environmental monitoring.
The industrial fields concerned are multiple and varied, they aim at the processing industries, electric and electronic industries, industries of image and instrumentation, the field of health, aeronautics, transport in general, robotics… and in a general manner the whole of electric and electronic systems. We are also interested in process engineering which is a wide field: this include process industries such as chemical industry, food, industry of materials, pharmaceutical industry, etc. all of which are characterized by important transformations of the matter.
The major goals of the laboratory are:
• Training by the search of doctoral and masters students
• The valorization of the work completed within the research teams
• Scientific diffusion
• The transfer of technologies towards industry
Obviously, we will take care of the development of a quality scientific research, which takes account of the directives, the national needs and the universal incentives and concerns.
Using the attached template, authors are invited to send their submission by email to the electronic address of the conference: conf.siva11@gmail.com. PDF files are required in English or in French under format A4 without exceeding 6 pages including all material.
Full paper submission: October 26th30th , 2011
